Both Winehub and Shopify give you powerful tools to stay informed and respond proactively to key events across your business. There are two primary notification and automation systems available:
Winehub Admin Email Notifications
Shopify Flow Automations
These tools serve different purposes and can be used independently or in tandem, depending on the type of event you want to track or action you want to take.
You can choose to receive notifications for important customer account and payment events directly from Winehub. These emails are sent to the sending address configured in your Global Email Templates section under Winehub > Settings unless you add an alternate address.
Available notifications include:
Subscription Bottle Customisations – when a customer updates their wine selection.
Failed Billing Attempts – when a payment attempt does not go through.
Skipped Shipments – when a customer skips a scheduled order.
Payment Method Updated – when a new card is added or payment details are changed.
Subscription Cancelled - when a wine club or subscription is cancelled.
Daily Summary: New Subscriptions - daily digest of new wine club or general subscription signups.
To activate admin email notifications:
Go to Winehub > Settings > General Settings.
Select the System Features tab.
Tick the notifications you would like to receive.
Click Save to apply your preferences.
Each event will trigger a separate email notification. These are especially helpful for monitoring early signs of disengagement and ensuring timely follow-up.
While Winehub sends alerts for specific subscription and payment-related actions, Shopify Flow gives you broader flexibility to build custom automations for other business processes. This includes everything from tagging orders, notifying internal teams, or initiating fulfilment protocols.
Common use cases include:
New Subscription Notification – alert your team when a new club member joins.
Tagging Priority Orders – apply tags to large or express orders for VIP handling.
Slack Notifications – send internal alerts when specific customer actions occur.
Loyalty Upsell Workflows – automatically send offers or reminders when a customer hits a spend threshold.
How Shopify Flow Works:
Shopify Flow runs based on Triggers, Conditions, and Actions. You can create Flows directly from the Shopify admin using templates or fully custom logic.
