Understanding Tags in Winehub

Understanding Tags in Winehub

Tags in Winehub play an important role in reporting, automation, and customer segmentation. They help businesses streamline processes, track customer interactions, and trigger automated workflows. Winehub supports Product Tags, Customer Tags, and Order Tags, each serving a specific function.
Alert
All Winehub tags are placed and removed automatically. Removing or adding a tag manually will not affect any functionality or add/remove a customer from a club. The tag will simply be updated on the next sync.

Product Tags

Product tags in Winehub are automatically applied to improve searchability, analytics, and feature activation. Here are the key product tags and their functions:

Info
The Club & Tier tags are are variable based on the names of your clubs and membership tiers.
Tag Lifecycle:
  1. When a wine club membership is paused or cancelled, the active_wine_club tag is removed (unless they have another active subscription) along with the club's name tag.
  2. Club descriptor tags (e.g., “Example Club (#15) - Quarterly”) are also removed when a membership ends or is paused or moves to a different delivery frequency.

Order Tags

Order tags help track purchases, subscriptions, and sales activity at an order level.
  1. new_subscription → Applied to a customer’s first subscription order
  2. wineclub_subscription_order → Indicates an ongoing wine club subscription order
  3. product_subscription_order → Applied to orders from a general product subscription
  4. Staff Member Name → Applied to new subscription orders (if you are using staff attribution)

  3. These tags do not transfer to customer records but can be used in automation rules for tracking and customer management.
