When creating a new membership subscription for a 'fixed date' Wine Club, you must transact at the time of sign-up in order to vault a customer’s credit card. This is a Shopify requirement and is not something that is changeable. However, Winehub has some additional options to help manage this process effectively:
Option 1: Offer a Welcome Pack
A Welcome Pack is a product that new members receive immediately upon signup. This pack is automatically added to the cart during checkout and will be the first product shipped to the customer.
Option 2: Add a Free Sign Up Product
Alternatively, you can choose to add a 'free' product at checkout. This allows you to vault the customer’s credit card without charging them at sign-up. With this model, the first charge will occur on the club’s next scheduled billing date.
If you do not include a Welcome Pack or a Free Signup Product, the standard club product will be transacted upon signup.
Only fixed case clubs with a single product option are compatible with the welcome pack/free signup product. How to Set Up a Sign-up Product in Winehub
