Combining Discounts

Combining Discounts

Winehub features a powerful discount management system designed to deliver the right offer to the right customer, while protecting your margins and simplifying operations across clubs, loyalty programs, and general eCommerce.

How Discounts Are Applied

By default, Winehub applies only the highest eligible discount per transaction. Whether the discount is derived from a wine club, loyalty tier, or a perk, Winehub ensures that only the most beneficial offer is applied automatically - eliminating double discounts and protecting average order value.

All Winehub discounts are facilitated via Shopify discount codes, ensuring seamless application at checkout.

Combining Winehub and Shopify Discount Codes

Alert
Combining Winehub discounts with additional Shopify discount codes can lead to unexpected pricing outcomes and is not officially supported. If you choose to pursue this method, you do so at your own risk. Please note that Winehub Support cannot assist with issues arising from discount combinations.

Although not generally recommended, it is technically possible to combine a Shopify discount code created outside of Winehub with a Winehub-applied discount. Doing so can result in significant and unintended total discounts, so we advise using caution and performing plenty of testing.

If you choose to proceed with combining discounts, follow these guidelines:

  1. Enable Combinations in Shopify: In your Shopify admin, create a discount code and select the “Combine with other discounts” option.

  2. Limit Eligibility: Consider using customer eligibility, product scope, purchase type, or minimum purchase thresholds to restrict overlap with Winehub discounts.

  3. Test Thoroughly: Perform test transactions to ensure discounts apply correctly and that margin thresholds are protected.

  4. Monitor Outcomes: Track average order value (AOV) and redemption data to ensure the strategy aligns with your campaign objectives.

Best Practice

Instead of combining discounts, we recommend creating targeted promotions using Winehub’s built-in segmentation tools. This allows you to personalise offers based on tier status, product type, or purchase history - ensuring that customers receive the most relevant and high-value offers without eroding profitability.
