Getting Started Checklist
This article is designed to walk you through the setup process step by step, ensuring you're up and running with Winehub as quickly as possible. It is designed to provide simple instructions and links to additional articles where you can find more detailed help. If you can't find an answer in our help articles, please lodge a support ticket and one of our team will help you out.
Let’s get started!
1. Initial Planning & Setup
- Ensure you have completed all organisational settings & payment gateway setup in your Shopify store (see Shopify Help for details)
- Ensure you have setup shipping via Shopify or a 3rd party application (see Shopify Help for details)
- If you require migration assistance or setup & styling services, contact Winehub for a quote and to book a suitable date
- Install the Winehub app from the Shopify App Store
- Choose the plan that best fits your needs
2. Set up your Products & Wine Clubs
- Use the Product Loading guide to add any products that need to be included in your wine clubs
- Read the 'Wine Club' section of this help guide to understand which club type and configuration suits you best
- Create your wine club(s) customising desired frequency, discounts, products & perks
- Set your clubs to 'Published' if you'd like them to show on the website
If you are using our migration service, we are able to setup your club(s) on your behalf based on the information you provide. It is important that you are as detailed and specific as possible in outlining your club requirements to ensure they are set up correctly from the beginning - otherwise you may need to correct anything manually that wasn't provided in the initial requirements. You are very welcome to set up your own clubs in the lead-up to your migration if you'd prefer to have full control of club configuration from the beginning.
3. Create your Loyalty Tiers (Pro-Plans only)
- Read the 'Loyalty Tier' section of this help guide to understand which tier type and configuration suits you best
- Create your loyalty tier structure using the instructions provided
- Ensure your customers have already been added to Shopify (ie. a customer account must be present before a customer can be added to a loyalty tier)
- Add members manually or bulk-upload via CSV in the tier setup
- Activate the loyalty tiers (General Settings > System Features), only when all setup is complete
Loyalty tiers functionality requires Pro Scaler plan or above
4. Review your General Settings & Club Shipping
- Read the General Settings article in this help guide to understand how to configure club behaviour
- Review and configure all general settings in the Settings tab in Winehub
- Set discounts to 'Automatic' if you'd like member discounts to be automatically applied
- Setup a Club Shipping Profile if your club has a special shipping price for members
- Connect your Stripe account in 'Third Party Integrations' if you'd like to use this as a secondary payment gateway (Optional)
- Connect your Klaviyo account in 'Third Party Integrations' if you'd like to sync Klaviyo & Winehub
Our Klaviyo integration will sync your customer segments to Klaviyo and fetch your Klaviyo templates for you to use in Winehub. But by default, Winehub still controls all sending of automated emails rather than them being sent from Klaviyo. Follow the
Sending Winehub Emails via Klaviyo instructions if you would like to send one or more of your Winehub emails via Klaviyo.
5. Embed the Theme Blocks on your Website
- Read the Theme Blocks & Apps article in this help guide
- Confirm you are using a Shopify 2.0 theme (otherwise you may experience theme conflicts)
- Activate the Signup App in your Shopify Theme
- Style the Signup App to match your brand in the settings of Winehub
- Activate the Customer Portal redirect app in your Shopify Theme
- Check that Shopify Customer Accounts setting is set to 'Legacy Accounts'
- Style the Customer Portal to match your brand in the settings of Winehub
- OPTIONAL: Add the Meta Fields & Discount Pricing blocks if required
6. Setup & Customise Automated Emails
- Read the Automated Emails article in this help guide to understand how to configure emails
- Verify your sending email address using the process provided in the article
- Style your email template (or, use the Klaviyo integration to fetch a template)
- Review & customise each relevant template shown in Action Email Templates section
- Test each email to ensure you are happy with styling and content
- Activate automated emails in the General Settings section in Winehub (General Settings > System Features)
Only activate emails when you have finished setup and are ready to go live, otherwise you may accidentally trigger automated emails. This can even happen if you are performing actions outside of Winehub, for example if you are uploading historical orders into Shopify that affect the threshold spend loaded into a loyalty tier.
7. Go Live!
- When your basic setup is complete, book your complimentary Onboarding Session by emailing support@winehub.io. This is designed to cover day-to-day management of wine clubs, loyalty perks and membership tiers, and to answer any questions that you have.
- For migrated customers, advise Winehub support what date you'd like your club memberships activated
- Repoint your domain to activate your new website & Winehub (see Shopify Help for details)
