The Advanced Analytics feature uses sales data and WineHub’s rich product metafields to provide detailed sales analysis. While the Dashboard provides a topline overview of sales by wine club and/or loyalty tier, Advanced Analytics provides more specific data about product and regional preferences, sales forecasts and more.
Getting the most out of Advanced Analytics
To get the most out of Analytics, you should ensure all products have their core
Winehub metafields populated. The key metafield data points for reporting are:
- Product Type
- Primary Variety
- Country of Origin
- Region
- Subregion
Once updated, you can sync your product metafields using the “Sync Metafield Data” button at the bottom of the dashboard (This is only required for metafield changes on existing products). “Unspecified” results indicate missing metafield data.
Advanced Analytics Overview
All Orders or Wine Club Only
At the top of Advanced Analytics, you can choose to report on All Orders processed via your Shopify store, or Wine Club transactions only.
Product Analytics or Regional Analytics
Next, you can choose to review Product Analytics or Regional Analytics. Product Analytics will allow you to view Top Products, Product Types & Wine Varieties whereas Regional Analytics will allow you to view Countries, Regions and Sub Regions. Keep in mind that Winehub metafields need to be loaded for all products to generate meaningful charts.
Choose Analysis Period
In order to view data, specify the date range of the data for analysis. Using the dropdown, you can select the sales period for the analytics data, then press Generate Charts to populate the charts. If you want to see data from a specific sales period, select “Custom Date” from the dropdown and specify the start and end dates you require.
View Detail
To view a full list of results, rather than the top 10 shown on the charts, click on the View Detail button in each section. Results will be displayed in tables, with the option to export the data to CSV format.

Custom Data
The analytics feature also provides a custom data option, allowing you to fine tune your results. Select “Custom Data” and then specify the analytics period and regional scope. Then you can choose any types or varieties that you would like sales data for and hit “Generate Data” to fetch the results.
As an example, suppose we wanted to get sales data for our Australian red wines over the last 30 days. We select 30 Days for the analytics period, Country for the scope, Australia for the Country, and Red for the type. This will return a list of products matching the filters we specified, with their sales numbers, and percentage of total sales over the last 30 days.
Projected Subscription Data
The Projected Subscription Data is designed to give you an overview of your recurring subscription revenue and required inventory to fulfil your subscription orders. It forecasts using just the current active subscriptions to your clubs and determines future rebill dates based on their subscribed frequency. It does not take into account any cancellations, skips or growth.
For each of the charts you can project for the next 12, 9, 6 or 3 months. You can also filter the data based on All Clubs or a specific club with active subscribers.
When All Clubs is selected there is a Pie Chart breaking down the projected revenue into clubs for each month so you can easily see how clubs are performing in comparison with each other.
As well as displaying the forecasted revenue, for both All Clubs and specific clubs, a forecast of products required for the selected time period can be viewed here.
