Exclusive Products

Exclusive Products

Exclusive products can be included as optional perks in your Loyalty Tiers. This functionality can be used to provide restricted access to special releases, museum stock, or limited availability wines.

Available products are accessible to tier members either via the customer portal and, optionally, through your storefront. Exclusive products can be added as either individual products or a cluster of products for added flexibility.

To ensure the functionality of exclusive products, you must activate a checkout rule and optionally enable pricing on product pages if you want these exclusive offers visible to ALL customers (while still being restricted to member-only purchases).

Info
Exclusive Products are not compatible with Dynamic Checkout Buttons on Shopify product pages. Please deactivate Dynamic Checkout Buttons on your product template before setting up Exclusive Products. You can still continue to use Dynamic Checkout Buttons on your Checkout page.

How to Add a Checkout Rule in Shopify

  1. Navigate to the Shopify Settings.
  2. In the navigation menu, select Checkout.
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the page and locate the Checkout Rules section.
  4. Click Add Rule.

  5. From the list, select the rule titled CHECKOUT VALIDATION FUNCTION.

  6. Save the rule to add it to your store
NOTE: Use the check box to determine behaviour if the validation encounters a problem

  7. Activate the rule using the Turn on button

  8. Confirm the rule is now active, then return to Loyalty Tiers in Winehub to begin adding exclusive products.

Adding Exclusive Products to a Loyalty Tier

  • Navigate to the Loyalty section of Winehub
  • Open the chosen Loyalty Tier, scroll down to the Exclusive Products section.

  • If prompted, confirm that you have deactivated Dynamic Checkout Buttons on product pages and activated the required checkout rule

  • Choose to add either individual products or a cluster of products. A cluster allows you to group multiple product variants, such as specific sizes or types, for streamlined management.

  • Customise how you would like to offer the product (ie. quantity, price, duration etc). Enter 0% if the product is not to be discounted.

  • Save the settings to apply exclusive access to these products for members of the tier.
Idea
Members are not automatically notified when you add or remove Exclusive Products. You will need to notify eligible members via a campaign email of the products available in their portal.

Accessing Exclusive Products in the Customer Portal

By default, Exclusive Products are only made available in the Customer Portal. This means that the customer must login in order to see what products they have access to and purchase.
  1. Advise the customer to login to their customer portal (or create a new account)
  2. Click on the Exclusive Products tab (note: your admin may have changed the name of this tab in your store)
  3. Customer can purchase exclusive products based on the conditions you have setup

Info
The Exclusive Products tab is only shown when products are available. If no products are present, this tab is hidden.

Showing Exclusive Products in your Storefront (optional)

Most businesses only make exclusive products available via the Customer Portal. However, you may want to also display these products in your storefront showing loyalty pricing along with a note advising that these products are available for purchase by 'loyalty members only'. In this case, you need to embed an additional Winehub app into your Shopify theme.
  1. Go to Online Store > Theme > Edit Theme in your Shopify admin.

  2. Open the App Embed section on the left hand menu (only available in Shopify 2.0 themes).

  3. Enable the Winehub Extension & use the toggles to customise how you would like it to function in your store.

  4. If the pricing and messaging doesn’t integrate seamlessly with your theme, manual configuration may be required. Please contact Winehub support for assistance.

By following these steps, you can make loyalty tier pricing visible to non-members, which may encourage people to engage more with your loyalty program.
