General Subscriptions

A general subscription is a recurring order for a single product, such as a recurring 6-pack of Shiraz. Unlike wine clubs, general subscriptions do not include perks but are still an excellent way to encourage repeat purchases of a single product. Setting up subscriptions is a two-step process.; Firstly you'll need to setup exactly which products you want to display the Subscription block, then you'll need to embed the Subscription Options block in your Shopify theme. 

Setting up General Subscriptions

  1. Navigate to Winehub > Wine Clubs > General Subscriptions and click Create New.



  2. Name the subscription & add the delivery frequencies you’d like to offer, such as Monthly, Quarterly, or Bi-Annually.



  3. Add an associated discount by clicking the 'Edit' button at the bottom right of each freqency



  4. Use the Add Existing Product button to select the products that will display subscription options.



  5. Save the subscription.

Embedding the Subscription Options Block

The Subscription Options block is generally embedded on the default Product template in your Shopify theme. However, it will only show on products that have subscriptions enabled (see the section below). 
  1. Navigate to Online Store in your Shopify admin.
  2. Select Themes and click Edit Theme on your active theme.



  3. Using the page selector at the top of the page, navigate to the Product > Default Product template.



  4. In the left menu, click Add Block and choose Apps. Select Winehub Subscription Options. This is generally placed directly above the Buy Buttons.



  5. Customise the subscription options in the right-hand menu as needed.

Managing General Subscriptions

Within Winehub, managing a General Subscription (eg. editing, pausing, cancelling, updating personal & payment details) works exactly the same way as a Wine Club. Please see the Wine Club help section for details on how to manage a General Subscription contract.
Idea
To view which customers are subscribed to a particular product, navigate to Winehub > Administration > Product Subscriptions and select the required Product Variant.
