Club Perks

Club Perks

Wine clubs are about more than just wine; they often come with exclusive perks to entice members and add value. Winehub provides robust tools for customising club-specific perks, allowing you to assign them to all delivery frequencies or tailor them based on frequency (e.g., quarterly deliveries may offer more benefits than bi-annual deliveries). Here's how you can manage perks and maximise their impact.

Common Perk Examples

Here are some of the most popular perks that wine clubs offer:

  1. Free Product with Every X Order Over Y Value
Example: A free bottle of wine with every 5th order over $150.

  2. Discounts on Non-Club Purchases
Example: 10% or 20% off all purchases made outside of scheduled club deliveries.

  3. Fixed Amount Off Orders Over X Value
Example: Spend $100 and get $20 off.

  4. Free Shipping
Example: Free shipping on all non-club orders.

Perk Types in Winehub

Winehub categorises perks into six distinct types, providing flexibility and customisation:

1. Percentage Off Clusters

  • Apply a percentage discount to a specific collection or group of products.
  • Uses Winehub Clusters to define the applicable products.

2. Percentage Off Non-Club Orders

  • A percentage discount on all products outside of scheduled club deliveries.
  • Customisations:
    • Set a minimum spend or minimum item count to qualify (e.g. 10% off for orders over $50, or 10% off 12+ bottles).
    • Exclude specific products from the discount.

3. Fixed Amount Off Non-Club Orders

  • Offer a fixed-dollar discount on non-club orders.
  • Customisations:
    • Set a minimum spend or minimum item count to qualify (e.g. $20 off for orders over $100, or $20 for 12+ bottles).
    • Exclude specific products from the discount.

4. Free Shipping On Non-Club Orders

  • Provide free shipping for all orders made outside of scheduled deliveries.
  • Customisation: Set a minimum spend or minimum item count to qualify (e.g. free shipping on orders over $200, or free shipping for 12+ bottles).

5. Free Product with Club Shipment

  • Add a free product to a scheduled club delivery.
  • Customisations:
    • Specify the number of orders required to qualify (e.g., free product after every 3rd order).
    • Choose whether the perk repeats (e.g., receive the free product every 3 orders).
Alert
In certain regions it is not permitted to provide alcohol for free as an incentive to purchase. As such, you can activate a setting in General Settings > Discounts to apply a token 0.01 charge for 'free products'. Read more.

6. Custom Perk (Free Text)

  • Add any other perk type as free text, such as exclusive event invitations or private tastings.
  • Note: This perk is for informational purposes only and doesn’t have automatic discount functionality.

Tenured Perks

The following additional perk types allow you to reward customers according to the duration of their club membership.

1. Free Shipping on Club Orders (Tenure) - allows you to offer free shipping on club orders for long-serving customers
2. Percentage off Clusters (Tenure) - allows you to specify a higher discount for long-serving customers on specific products
3. Percentage off Non-Club Orders (Tenure) - allows you to specify a higher discount for long-serving customers on all products

Assigning Perks by Delivery Frequency

Winehub allows perks to be assigned broadly across all frequencies or customised for specific ones:

  • All Frequencies: Apply perks like free shipping or a general percentage discount across all delivery schedules.
Example: 10% off all non-club orders for every member.

  • Frequency-Specific Perks: Customise perks for specific delivery schedules to incentivise more frequent participation.
    Example:

    • Quarterly delivery members get 20% off non-club orders.
    • Bi-annual members get 10% off non-club orders.

Practical Applications

  • Boosting Sales Outside Club Deliveries: Use perks like "10% off non-club orders over $100" to encourage year-round purchases.
  • Rewarding Loyalty: Add a free bottle of wine with every 5th club shipment to reward long-term members.
  • Differentiating Club Levels: Offer premium perks (e.g., higher discounts, exclusive products) to members with more frequent delivery schedules.
